Sin City Adds Ziplining to List of Attractions

Las Vegas will soon be using slot machines for more than just gambling. Officials from the Fremont Experience announced a new attraction, SlotZilla, will be hitting the streets in Sin City. SlotZilla, a giant slot machine that will spit our riders at 120 feet above street level, is scheduled to open in June 2013.

It will take the traditional zipline ride to the next level by combining the theme-park feel and gambling. It also brings new life to the “old school” Fremont Street, and officials hope it will become a new icon for the area.

The $11 million SlotZilla will shoot riders through the air at 35 mph for the entire stretch of Main Street – 1,700 feet. Not everyone is ready to take the plunge though! Las Vegas Mayor, Carolyn Goodman, said she is excited about the new attraction, but will not be riding it anytime soon.  Mayor Goodman joke serves as a warning to those with a fear of heights. The SlotZilla platform reaches as high as a 12-story building and will feature a slot arm, reels and two levels of doors that open to propel riders forward when the jackpot is hit.

If heights don’t scare you (or you’ve had a Mai Tai or two), you can take a ride on the new attraction for about the cost of a Blackjack hand. The lower portion of the ride will cost $20, with the upper level will cost $30. If that isn’t enough thrill, you can ride both for $40.Tell us, would you make SlotZilla part of your Las Vegas experience? Leave a comment below, post on our Facebook wall or Tweet us.
